Causes of periodontal disease and its symptoms

The word periodontal means “around the tooth.” Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, are serious bacterial infections that destroy the Gums and the tissues around the mouth. If the inflammation is left untreated, the disease will continue and the underlying bone around the teeth will disintegrate, and will no longer be able to keep the teeth in place.
What causes periodontal disease?
As in many other oral health diseases, bacteria and plaque formation are often the culprits. In fact, the formation of plaque is the main cause of gum disease.Other possible causes of gum disease are:
* Genetics.
* Choice of lifestyle.
* Diet low in nutrients.
* Smoking or using smokeless snuff.
* Autoinmunológicas or systemic diseases.
* Diabetes.
* Hormonal changes in the body.
* Bruxism (teeth relentlessly squeeze).
* Certain medicines.
Symptoms of periodontal disease?
It then lists the most common symptoms of periodontal disease. However, each individual may experience symptoms in a different way. Symptoms may include the following:
* Gums sensitive, swollen and red.
* Bleeding and the brush, or cleaned with dental floss.
* Gums retracted.
* Teeth loose or separated.
* Bad breath persistent.
* The denture no longer fits.
* Pus between teeth and gums.
* Changing the bite and jaw alignment.
The symptoms of gum disease may resemble those in other conditions or medical problems.Consult a dentist or other oral health specialist for diagnosis.
